Shadows.

a dream and nightmare of love.
Of Ephraim.

The thoughts of you shadow me till the end of the world.

Even worse, they stalk me to the world’s corners and when I find out the world isn’t square

It stares me up fair and square,

Moulding me to the circumference of your affection.

The treasure I had dug so deep to hide

So even those who looked for it far and wide

wouldn’t find has been unearthed.

My darkest fear has been shone upon -

Love is true, real and unbridled.

The myths did not lie

And the children’s stories were in fact not one of Pinocchio’s cries.

The thoughts of you shadow me till the end of the world.

They singe through my any remaining armour of trauma

Leaving me bare and naked

- Seen yet not exposed.

Even better,

The thoughts stalk me to the world’s corners,

Cornering me to face my fears -

That I have loved, I still love and that I too am loved.
